Paris Photo
The annual photography fair Paris Photo brings together hundreds international galleries and publishers presenting a panorama of the finest examples of photographic expression from the 19th century to the present day. Paris Photo also turns the spotlight on the Central Europe scene, reveals new talents through awards and competitions and offers a rich programme of events and encounters.
Les Rencontres d'Arles
With over fifty exhibitions on show in splendid heritage venues all over Arles, the Rencontres have been contributing for over forty years to the dissemination of the world's photographic legacy. Via the new talents uncovered by its annual Discovery prize, the festival has established its role as a crucible for contemporary creativity. Since 1970 the Rencontres have been playing a major part in achieving recognition for photography as an art form, and in helping photographers and photography lovers hone their gaze. Revolving mainly around work not previously shown elsewhere, Rencontres has become the iconic international photo festival.
Prix Pictet has staged special evening screenings at Les Rencontres d'Arles in 2009, 2010 and 2011. The fourth Shortlist for the Prix Pictet will be announced there in July 2012.
Saatchi Gallery
The Saatchi Gallery opened in 2008 to provide an innovative forum for contemporary art, presenting work by largely unseen young artists or by international artists whose work has been rarely or never exhibited in the UK. The Gallery has worked with media sponsors on a number of shows including The Observer, The Sunday Times, Evening Standard, The Independent on Sunday and Time Out.
For the Prix Pictet Power, The Saatchi Gallery will play host to the award ceremony and exhibition.
