With several decades of reporting from Africa for the BBC and CNN, Sylvia Smith has made wide-ranging connections throughout the continent. Smith has a special interest in African art from the traditional to the contemporary installation and is a collector of African art. Smith believes that the Prix Pictet is an excellent opportunity to bring African photographers on to the world stage.
