Regina Maria Anzenberger

Born in Vienna, Austria, Regina Anzenberger is a painter, founder and director of the photographer’s representation Anzenberger Agency, Vienna. She has gained extensive knowledge in virtually every area of print-media production, having worked as an illustrator, photographer and journalist. Her love of photography was strengthened by her experience as a chief photo editor for a range of Austrian magazines from 1983 to 1989. In May 1989 Regina Maria Anzenberger founded the Anzenberger Agency which today represents 32 outstanding photographers worldwide.

Since 1992 - Agency was represented at the Visa pour L’Image photo festival in Perpignan/France with a stand, many evening screen projections and two exhibitions.
1995 - Anzenberger Portfolio CD received a mention as a ‘remarkable example of the potential for image presentation via television or computer’ at the Kodak Photo Book Competition
1996 - Regina Maria Anzenberger was a member of the International Nominating Commitee of the Infinity Awards of the ICP in New York
1997 - Member of the Committee of the Joop Swart Masterclass of World Press Photo. In 1997 - editor of the Book Regina Maria Anzenberger – 22 Photographers published by Edition Stemmle Zurich.
1999 - Editor of the PI issue on Austrian Documentary Photography.
2001 - Exhibition on Austrian Photography at the Leica Gallery New York
2002 - Curator of the exhibition on Pakistan by Christine de Grancy at the WestLicht/Leica gallery in Vienna. Anzenberger Gallery founded and start of regular exhibitions at the gallery
2004 - Curator of the exhibition Ferdinand Schmutzer – A Photographic Discovery together with Uwe Schoegl from the Austrian National Library at the Ping Yao photo festival in China and in 2005 at the Naarden photo festival in the Netherlands.
2004 - Lectures at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the Prager Fotoschule, Kefermarkt, Austria. 2005 - Exhibition Metamorphoses by Annet van der Voort at the Rencontres de la photographie Arles, France. Start of the AnzenbergerOnlineGallery www.anzenbergergallery.com
2006 - Co-Curated the exhibition The World of Sigmund Freud with photos by Ferdinand Schmutzer at the Leica Gallery in New York and the Austrian Embassy in Washington, USA.
Jury Member of the CNN Journalist Award for the German speaking countries.
2007- Curator of the photo exhibition “The Character of a Painting ...” with the painter Alexander Waltner and photographer Andrei Liankevich.
Collaboration with the Charity Auction “Art helps Africa” at the Lentos Museum of Modern Art in Linz, Austria.
2008 - Member of the Nominating Committee of the Paul Huf Award by FOAM Fotomuseum Amsterdam.
