Daniel Newburg
Having worked for galleries on Madison Avenue and Soho, Daniel Newburg launched his eponymous gallery in Tribeca in 1984, moving to Soho in 1988. The gallery exhibited many leading contemporary artists between 1984 and 1994. His interest in photography began in 1988 when he acquired important works by Man Ray and Edward Weston. In 1999 he established Artandphotographs Ltd, an art and photography consultancy and gallery with premises in St James’s, London. In 2004 he launched Photo-London at the Royal Academy Burlington Garden’s, London’s international photography fair and festival. After three annual editions Reed Exhibitions took over the fair in 2007. He is publisher of Pluk magazine, launched in 2001, now one of the leading international art and photography magazines for photography, film + video.
