Anne Kennedy

Anne Kennedy’s career in photography and art publishing began as archivist for photographer Paul Strand and then his Estate. She also worked on many seminal books at the publishing foundation, Aperture, and then as Editor of Callaway Editions.

She has curated exhibitions, edited publications, advised photographic estates and represented many of the most highly regarded photographers of our time. In 1981, with partner Jim Moffat, she founded Art + Commerce, an agency geared towards supporting fine art photographers producing original work for print in order to help them simultaneously sustain careers in the art and commercial worlds.

Over the past two decades Art + Commerce has grown to include its own production, archive, and imaging businesses while also representing today’s most talented photographers and creative directors. Among the artists represented are Annie Leibovitz, Craig McDean, Steven Meisel, and The Estate of Robert Mapplethorpe. Creative Directors include David James and M/M Paris. The Art + Commerce Archive is the leading agent for photographic collections by contemporary photographers and important photographic estates.
