Olga Korsunova

Olga Korsunova is a photographer and curator. She studied at the School of Law of Leningrad State University (1969-1972) and has worked as a photographer at: Khudozhnik RSFSR publishers, the State Hermitage, Theater of Young Spectators, the state recording company Melodiya (1972-1980). She left Leningrad with her family at the beginning of the 1980s, to live in Karelia for 15 years. She worked as a senior researcher at National Centre for Contemporary Art (1998-2002); the State Photography Center (2002-2005).

From 1998 through 2005, she was the director of the Baltic School of Photography (Ars Baltica project for young professional photographers). She has also worked as Director of educational and exhibition programs at Peterburgskie fotomasterskie Foundation (2005-2006); international summer photography schools (2005, 2006, SPb.); and as Director General of “FotoDepartament” Information Center/Bureau (from 2006).

Olga Korsunova has curated over 40 exhibition projects and is the author of a number of personal exhibits and great number of group exhibits in Russia and abroad. Her works are kept in the collection of the Russian National Library, Norton and Nancy Dodge (Rutgers, USA), Museum of Moscow House of Photography, and Russian and foreign private collections.
