Karla Osorio
Lawyer and art historian, contemporary art collector and director of FOTO ARTE FESTIVAL in Brasília, which exists since 2002 and is one of the most important photographic Festival in Brazil nowadays dedicated to photography and new media (www.fotoartebrasilia.com.br).
The festival include exhibitions, portfolio reviews, lectures and workshops etc and also organizes a national prize of photography (PRÊMIO FOTO ARTE).
Mrs. Osorio is a publisher of art books, specialized on contemporary art and photography and is the director of the largest Contemporary Art Center in Brasilia - ECCO (www.eccobrasilia.com.br), which organizes art shows, workshops, and educational programs.
Mrs.Osorio is most interested in bodies of work which are (or nearly) complete and which possess new, innovative or interdisciplinary approaches to the medium and intend to be closer to a contemporary art work.
Participated in several Festivals in the world either as curator, or as portfolio reviewer, such as: FOTOFEST, Houston/ EUA; ENCUENTROS ABIERTOS, Buenos Aires/ Argentina; FOTOFEST, Thessalonick/ Greece; Odense Triennalle/ Denmark.
