Maria Sukkar
Maria Sukkar, was born in Beirut, Lebanon. She majored in Nutrition and Dietetics and had her private practice for a few years in Beirut.
In 2004, Sukkar moved to London, where she Joined several Art funds like Outset and Artangel. She took a Classical Art Course at Sotheby's in 2008.
Sukkar became a Platinum Patron of the Tate Museum and has joined
several committees like the MENA Acquisitions Committee and the
Photography Acquisitions Committee also at the Tate.
She is also a member of The Middle East Acquisition Committee at the British Museum, a Patron of the Chisenhale Gallery, a Benefactor of the Showroom, and an Exhibition Patron of the Whitechapel Gallery.
Sukkar is also involved in the following charities in the UK: the Chain of Hope, Women for Women and the Shooting Star Children's Hospice, as well as the St Jude's Children's Cancer Centre in Beirut.
