Leo Johnson

Leo Johnson is a Co-Founder of Sustainable Finance, sustainability advisors to over 50 leading global banks and business. Leo is the author of IFC's best practice publication: "Beyond Risk: Sustainability and the emerging markets financial sector”, and in 2004 won IFC’s Corporate Award for his role in the implementation of the Equator Principles. He is on the Advisory Panel for the Cambridge Program for Industry on Climate Change and the Financial Sector and on the Advisory Board of TBLI. He hosts and was a Judge for the Financial Times Sustainable Banking Awards, and has contributed to CNBC and as a guest columnist to the Financial Times, Spectator and Wall Street Journal.

Leo Johnson’s business is making sense of sustainability, pinpointing the mega-trends that will impact business performance and the economic agenda—from climate change, to price shocks in water, oil and food, to shifts in consumer preferences — then laying out the risks and opportunities for global business and the development community.

Leo has an MBA from INSEAD. He holds an M.Sc. in Resource and Environmental Economics from University College London, and a B.A. from Oxford University, where he was a Scholar of New College.
