Consumption and the V&A

The theme of the fifth cycle of the Prix Pictet is Consumption. The announcement was made at Les Rencontres d’Arles on Thursday 4 July. The award ceremony and finalists’ exhibition will take place at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London in May 2014. At the same time it was announced that the sixth cycle of the Prix Pictet would conclude at the Musée d’Art Moderne in November 2015.

New members of the Jury for the fifth cycle of the Prix Pictet include Luc Delahaye (Power laureate), Pritzker Prize winning architect Wang Shu, Elisabeth Sussman, Chief Curator at the Whitney and FT arts writer Peter Aspden.

Martin Roth, Director of the V&A, said, ‘We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Prix Pictet. It is a world-class award and its focus on sustainability is of critical importance for us all. I hope this will mark the start of a long-term association between the Prix Pictet and the V&A.’
