Honorary President of the Prix Pictet, Kofi Annan, was recently interview by the Swiss newspaper Le Temps. In the interview he discusses his relationship with images and the role of artists and his hope that youth can play a key role in changing the world.
“I’ve always appreciated the impact of photography, its ability to carry a message. Communication has become essential and we try every way possible to transmit information: photography is probably one of the most effective because it is immediate and instantaneous. I also think it is important to encourage artists and ask them to use their creativity to discuss the challenges of today’s world.”
