The award ceremony for the Prix Pictet Consumption took place at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, on 21 May 2014, where German photographer Michael Schmidt was awarded the fifth Prix Pictet. The evening also marked the opening of the exhibition of work by the eleven artists shortlisted for the prize, which is open to the public until 14 June.

Martin Roth, Director of the V&A, said, ‘We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Prix Pictet. It is a world-class award and its focus on sustainability is of critical importance for us all. I hope this will mark the start of a long-term association between the Prix Pictet and the V&A.’
